Golden Gate Bridge
One of the must-sees. Apparently, the view is better in winter than in summer. Summer tends to fog up more. So, I was blessed with picturesque views. Alluring.

Bay Bridge
I can’t remember the exact name of this bridge but it’s visible even from Golden Gate Bridge. Mathieu took this shot when the whole gang left for an island without me. It is a less famous bridge but still beautiful.

Marine County
The Marine County is one of the nicest estates to live in. Expensive too.

Belated Post: Travelled San Francisco (Part II)

Night Lights
It is a city with lotsa bright lights.

Architectures
I was taken through the numerous types of architectures. Some were really unique and amazing.

A church that looks like a hat.

A show was made here. But I can’t remember the show title.

So steep! It must be stressful parking here.

I love this. Houses built on a hill looking out to the sea. So lovely. This is Sausalito.

Still Sausalito

I fell deeply in love with Sausalito and on a road trip we took later on, we went back to Sausalito to spend more lovely time here. This is a truly unforgettable place.

I stayed at The Westin on Market Street.

Palace of Fine Arts
It has a lovely, romantic and sad tale. But I can’t remember now.

The women were facing inwards because they were crying. Legend has it that they could not let the world see they were crying.

The Cable Car Ride
I had to take the cable car ride because it would be quite an experience. The queue was crazy but I waited patiently under the hot sun that caused me to perspire even in winter.

When the cable car arrived, the cable car staff had to manually turned the cable car towards the upward direction.

Manually pushing

See how steep the cable car went up!

Belated Post: My Solemnization 090909

November 7, 2010 by coxi07

Well, as mentioned in my previous post on www.my-world-cindy.blogspot.com, I am going to have quite a few belated posts upcoming. I just finished sorting out all my photos because I like to use a different cameras for different occasion. When I scuba dive, I use Fuji and Canon G10. On some days when I go out, I like to bring G10 otherwise DSLR. So, I ended up having photos everywhere.

Anyway, my solemnization took place in 090909 at New Creation Church for family members only. And now looking at the photos, it conjured many lovely memories. And some memories stressful ones. If I could do this again, I’ll hire a helper.

The night before, I was at the florist quarrelling with the staff because they ordered the wrong flowers for my hand bouquet and hairdo but still called to confirm a day before. I was so upset with the wrong flowers so baby took me to Auntie Kim for dinner to appease me. Thank God to Marilyn, my hairdo was settled. But I had not found my shoes. So, I made a last minute dash to find my shoes. Yes. On my solemnization day.

In the end, I settled for a pair of white patent peep toes heels from Guess. By the time I reached the studio, I was exhausted and a bit late. So, I simply sank into my chair and let Marilyn do her work.

The make up began but ended late too. Then Baby, Susan and I rushed down to the church with our phones ringing a lot because our guests had arrived but we had not. They also could not recognise the church coordinator. So, Baby had to do a rally style driving.

I was so relieved when we reached the church. Seeing the wedding coordinator eased the stress because from us. Baby and I indulged in the blessings from our family members. And up to that point, we did not think about the music. So, we used a piece from the church.

Kinda’ chaotic because we really did not prepare very well for it.

Finally, the moments arrived for Dad to walk me in. Dad and I had a talk outside and I almost teared from his touching words. From then on, the whole process was very smooth and kinda’ emotional in the beginning. But it ended well and I was officially Mrs Teng.

Some photos for view.

Rainy Hong Kong

October 7, 2010 by coxi07

Warning: Read with patience. This is a long entry. Thanks.

We have gone to Hong Kong and returned. The trip was all right for me because it was raining quite a bit. So, we were not able to do much sight-seeing or street shopping. Or maybe, I really wanted to sight see more than shop. Instead, we ended up eating a lot and exploring shopping malls – not to shop, but just to explore. We also watched movie on one night when it was pouring.

Here are my after thoughts after surviving rainy HK.

1. The food servings were really big. But the girls were all so slim. How is that possible?

2. A must-go-to restaurant in HK is the Peking Restaurant at City Plaza HK. It’s on the 2nd/3rd level of the huge mall and serves really nice Salted Egg Prawns. Our favourite is this melon cooked in some broth. It was very tasty. The Xiao Long Bao was disappointing. But the Cod Fish was really good too.

3. It is good to buy the 3-day MTR pass when you are there. Walking is absolutely possible because there are really many shops and malls along the streets. There were also tonnes of eateries. So, the one thing you do not have to worry is – lack of things to buy and lack of food to eat. That was why we ended up eating a lot. Cos when something interesting caught our eyes, we went in. But, buying the pass is still good. Cos we did stations hopping since it was raining, to catch a glimpse of every stop, which was kinda’ fun!

4. We also popped by a neighbourhood mall. It was boring but we bought food at the supermarket.

5. People in HK walked very fast. The streets were almost always too small to accommodate everyone. I felt claustrophobic walking on the streets. The streets were so messy that I couldn’t shop – cos I felt confused.

6. Speak Mandarin. I think they will attend to you more than if you speak English and look Chinese.

7. If you miss certain brands at a mall in the city because of lack of time, worry not. There were so many malls selling the same thing, with the same brand. I could find H&M almsot everywhere. And international labels almost everywhere too. Of course, I shopped at Mango again. Like always…

8. Many people own a Chanel!

Since it was a trip to celebrate our first marriage anniversary, we were happy to just spend time relaxing with each other.

“I appreciate you a lot because I have given you the most precious thing of my life… My Lifetime.” – Baby

This is the first time I am travelling so light. But of course, I still stayed chic. I merely squeezed most of my clothes in and also brought lighter clothes.
Baby chose a ballerina picture to colour and wrote “Happy Anniversary” and gave it to me.
Oi Suen Guest House – It was almost like living in a rented room in a flat. The guest house itself was very clean and safe. But I couldn’t say the same for the block. We even saw a bumper being put out to sun. It was a good experience staying in a guest house. Nothing bad about it. Just that, right below our block was Baby’s favourite – Smelly Toufu. That was the biggest minus staying here.
We saw a strike outside DBS – they were still on the Lehman Brothers issue.
Some sights on the street. One of the shopping malls is called “Yong An”, which is Ray’s name! So, I took this picture for him.
Mona Lisa having an ice-cream. Made of slices of bread!
The bread – so creative!
K11, a shopping mall, was all sweets and candies. How inviting to hide from the rain.
So, how could I resist some? Especially gigantic ones.
(Note: I was wearing Crochet Trapeze Mini in Navy Blue from Moda Shoppe and flats from Pazzion.)
On our first night, we had our 1st Marriage Anniversary Dinner at Restaurant Petrus. It is one of the best fine-dining French restaurants (Michelin 2-star rating) in HK, located the 56 level of Shangri-La HK Island.  It offers a view of the harbour and TST. The service was impeccable. But the food was a tad disappointing (not every dish on our degustation menus were appealing to our taste buds). Nevertheless, the most invaluable is the companion and time spent at dinner. We ate for 4hrs so, it was really a good time to talk and catch up on time loss when we were both so busy back in Singapore.
The restaurant exuded opulence, extravagance and elegance in traditional French style.
We had a table next to the window and folded drapery.
As we were starving and could not make up our minds, we had two degustation menus. The most unglamarous thing we did at the restaurnt was – swapping plates and food. But well, we wanted to taste a little of everything. So, here are some pictures. The rest? We were too busy eating, criticising, chatting, swapping food and did not bother shooting.
And as always, some funny faces shots.
The restaurant did what I expected. They surprised us with something for our anniversary. If they didn’t, I would be quite disappointed, given their standards.
Photo at the doorway – really full and sleepy.
I transformed the day look to night look by adding black tights and I swapped earstuds for pearl earrings.
The wall paintings were so vivid and beautiful.
The second day, we set off in our new shoes.
And did what tourists usually do – taking lots of photos at the harbour.
(Note: I was wearing Bright Turquoise Knitted Overlay from Moda Shoppe with a black tank top beneath. This overlay was good. It kept me warm in the malls and was cooling enough in the heat.)
Followed by a cheap ferry ride from TST to HK.
And bought egg tarts – in this case, egg cups. The yellow one was normal egg tart. The white one was egg white tart. We both liked the white one more.
From this shop
And of course, some street shopping shots.
From left: Colour Kimono Inspired clothings on the wall. An elderly looking at a Hardware Stall and there were so many of these shops along this street we were on. Some nice dresses at Ladies Market. A shop with many laterns.
We finally saw a Mahjong place. But we were only outside.
Baby’s favourite smelly toufu place, right below our block.
The smelly toufu stall.
Last day, we were heading back. There was no photo of myself on the third day because it was raining non-stop. So, we kept eating. We also bought magazines and lounged around to read.
(Note: I was wearing Miss Selfridge Inspired Cardigan in White with Black with Fringe Sleeves Top in Silver from Moda Shoppe.)

I almost emptied my bank!

Yay!!! I am once again very proud of our next collection. For some reason, I think our clothes are looking better and the materials are getting better too.

For this launch, I broke the ceiling of my shopping budget (again). And I am eyeing some items for back orders – like the Halter Frock with Spring Embellishment. I placed it on my own waiting list first because I suspect it will be hot and I have given priorities to customers.

I was hoping to wear this for Kellyn’s wedding this Saturday. But I think I won’t have a chance to buy it for myself. So, Winnie and I are on our own back orders. Haha.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for more items to BO cos I still want more items – ok and more colours. I want to own almost every piece cos it’s so hard to decide! And each of them is unique and has its own beauty. In this business, it’s literally “Customers First”. I rather wait than let them wait.

I am lucky to have kept myself a cardigan, which I wore to Mei’s KTV bday. Was sick that day. So, really appreciate the stylish yet warm cardi. And last Saturday, I wore One Shoulder Drape Blouse to meet Kellyn etc. Love how it looks.

Of course, there are other pieces I took but I did not shoot. No time. So, you girls just see for yourself when the collection is launched.
One Shoulder Drape Blouse:
I love how it makes me looks slim!!!

The cardi I wore to the KTV
And… Here’s the launch preview we did for this launch. From this launch on, we will do a preview each time we are launching. Even I got excited. I couldn’t sleep last night because the preview looks really nice. And of course, after looking at the clothes on Winnie, I wanted EVEN MORE!!!
Winnie looks great and Celeste did a good job with the design.
See ya all babes!

Post-wedding: Happy New Year (2010)

September 24, 2010 by coxi07

Post-wedding was just… RECOVERY from my very bad hang over. I never had such a terrible hang over. We stayed two days in Goodwood Park Hotel and after that, headed up to KL for New Year.

It was quite fun going with Erin and Jason. :)

Well, nothing very much to write about post-wedding. I have a terrific husband. :) That’s all I can say. Love him lots!!!

Happy New Year @ KL!

Wedding AD Photos – Night

September 24, 2010 by coxi07

Banquet photos can be really boring – table shoots, the usual guests posing photos etc. And of course, banquets are just standard.

We wanted to do our second march-in with a dance. But due to the gown I chose, there was no way I could dance. I also didn’t plan earlier about dancing, so, the idea was completely ditched even though we learnt the dance (sorry Leonard – you taught well but we didn’t dance).

Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun. I love the time I had to interact with my friends. And I love the way William captured our expressions. It is certainly for great memory. Even now, after months I am looking at them, I still feel that moment’s joy.

I think this is very important because, the wedding day passed by too quickly. There was hardly any moment to savour. It was especially true for the banquet. I could hardly remember anything, especially after my great friends concocted potent drinks for me, which not only made me so happy that night, but also very drunk after that. :)

So, I am glad we chose William for our photography. Because he captured the moments we did not manage to savour and when we look back now, we could reminisce. :) Such blissful moments – of course, post-wedding, we are even more blissful.

A hug to thank Baby for settling the tables issue… at least, guests were seated.
Thanks to star emcees – Silas and Cindy. They were so good that people thought they were professional.
The drinking started – with potent drinks from Joyce and coy… after that, I was really “happy”.
More drinking
Joe was the man – he drank most of my potent drinks.
But he instigated Baby to drink…

Wedding AD – Day

September 24, 2010 by coxi07

Finally, I found the time to go through the hundreds of photos. With almost every photo being good, it certainly wasn’t easy selecting my favourite photos. So, here are some I really liked – was a really tough choice.

Really love the way William captured the expressions of everyone. I think he was absolutely great!

My wedding day was really memorable. I did away with the usual gate crash but added a door crash instead. I didn’t sabotage him. Instead, I wanted him to do meaningful things so I involved my family.

Wanted to do a dance for banquet but due to last minute gown issue, we did not dance. So, I made him do a “Nobody but you dance”. I was crazy about that song’s routine at that time. Then we made him convince my parents. My parents were really good sports. Dad even asked him to speak in Teochew – which really cracked up the whole family. Even granny got herself involved in the door crash. It was really fun. Then, we got him to write me a love poem. He did a really good job and the poem was really lovely. Completely touched me.

I think gate crash or door crash should not be sabotages. If brides and bridesmaids were to do something, they should really put their hearts into considering what are considered meaningful for the bride and bridegroom. Brides should also take control to avoid bridesmaids from going overboard. Ultimately, you just want him to express his “final” moments of sincerity before fetching you away from your family. So, make it meaningful and memorable. Involve your family – it will be even better. :)

Thanks William… And thanks to Precious Moments Bridal for the gowns. Thanks Marilyn for the make up. Thanks Steve for the video. Thanks Goodwood Park Hotel for the great wedding coordination and management. Thanks to the great team of people helping out the wedding. Love ya all! Lastly, really thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful and memorable wedding.

Sorry this came only months after wedding. :) Never too late yar?

I love shots like these – showing macro details of the gowns.
Nervously and excitedly waiting for Baby’s arrival

Granny and of course, the rest of the family enjoyed themselves. It was not sabotage at all but all the meaningful stuffs.

My Honeymoon – Maldives

September 24, 2010 by coxi07

One word - AWESOME!

It was breathtaking having close encounters with whale sharks and manta rays underwater. It was completely restful and enjoyable lounging at the resorts with baby. It was entirely fun getting to know the Spanish (there were only two of us who were Asians, one German and two Brazilians) and the Maldivian crew on board Princess Lara. I also had a chance to learn how to dance some Maldivian dance (photos to be uploaded at a later stage when I finally sort out Baby’s cameraS). All in all, it was a wonderful honeymoon where we spent quality time knowing each other and talking about life and futue, experiencing the underwater world and the beautiful Maldivian islands.
