My big day: 20.11.2011 (Part 1 of 3)

Apologise for my lack of postings… after my best friend’s wedding, I was pretty busy buying my own place, settling renovation details all in the midst of preparing for my own wedding on 20.11.2011

I will be splitting my entry into 3 parts:

Morning (Gate Crash, Tea ceremony)

Noon (Solemnization)

Evening (Banquet)

The following entry is gonna be pretty image heavy. Thanks for viewing!

My AD MUA Mikie, I had a different MUA for my prewedding shots. Very lucky to have worked with both them. Christopher is very good with colors & blending. Mikie is good with clean look.

My bridal gown. The first time I went for fitting I had like 3 choices in the end I didnt pick any of the 3 and spotted this gown at my 2nd appointment. At the first try, I decided this was it! <3 I’m missing my gown.

Shoes from Steve Madden, fully encrusted with crystals. A gift from the husband. Love Love max. Oh btw, I had 3 pairs of shoes for the entire wedding day. One gold fully sparkled one for tea ceremony and my Christian Louboutins (also a present from the hubby) for the banquet.

Ah ha.. this was one of the stages which the groom and his groomsmen had to go through. Lots of keys in a water pail full of water and herbs + grass + what’s not… the key to this stage is to use their feet to retrieve the correct key to open the gate!

The different food types for the guys to eat!

My bridesmaids getting ready!! You may notice that my best friends is missing. Yes indeed you have sharp eyes. She was pregnant in the first trimester and has been discouraged by her mom not to attend due to chinese beliefs that it will not be auspicious for the both of us.

Corsages which I made by hand for the girls.

Nails done by Cindy of Miraclez Nails. Super Gorge!

My girls!

I prepared goodie bags for the all the girls and a couple of my aunts for helping me with the wedding. This lady above is my youngest aunt, she helped me with several craft items and the biggest being my awesome max angbao box! Will show you guys in part 3 of the blog entry.

Kiss of luck + love from the parents.

Nice Tiara eh? From Far East!

The guys have arrived!

First mission…. a webpage??

haha.. they need to dance to my fave song at that moment. Step by Korean girl band Kara.

That’s not Kara… more like HAHA. =P

Upon arriving upstairs… scary things await them. Which I personally thought was pretty mild….

That’s my gf feeding hubby with the most potent bitter powder in the world ever and how did it taste??

Think his expression was enough to show….

The guys were suffering too.. haha…

Chilli padi with mushmallows! Weird combi.

K looks quite happy actually… haha…

haha…. the ice water must be cold! haa… all the grass + herbs + veg makes it quite disgusting. haha.. but I think guys that went thru army must think its nothing… but I think their toes must be quite inflexible to retrieve keys right?? So should be quite tough.. ha.

Lastly, after entering the house. Hubby has to write the standard “Love contract” which my youngest aunt has done such a pretty pretty job!!

Finally the hubby got his wife…………….

Stay tuned for 3 more parts on my big day plus my bachelorette party!

X

The proposal

went to get my nails done at Miraclez on sat, a day prior to the photoshoot with Ilssadorent.
Supposed to do both mani and pedi under the bridal package but since my pedi were still quite decent, hence only did an express pedicure.
 Anyway here’s the result:

Manicure.

Both hands. =)
I’m pretty pleased with the end results.

Went to Ilssadorent at 2.30pm for my makeup.
end result.
Quite natural I think. not too bad.

Anyway, as I was doing my makeup, someone came and I spotted over the corner of my eye but I couldnt see it, until the person came beside me.
And it was bestie! haha…. she bought me a bouquet of champage roses.. awww. really touched and so so happy that she was there.
 The roses. Perfect.

During the midst of the photoshoot, darling proposed. yes and I cried. Pretty dramatic to me. ha.
Wonder how the photos will turn out. haha. whilst darling proposed, my family suddenly appeared too! omg.
and michelle bought me a bunch of pink and white heart-shaped balloons!
chio! My fave colors. well same as the color of my 2 gown.
When we were on the way home, i was tweeting non stop and jieying asked me, are u gg to stop tweeting?
then i said no but i lifted my head and there was the precious moments figurine i wanted to have when darling proposed to me. Photos below but first my ring!

Middle figurine is a new addition =D

From bestie J!! So so pretty! Love Love max. Thanks darling! =) you are 1 of the few people whom I know are really appreciative of people who help you and is willing to show it. Love you max!
On Sat, darling and I went to BOWS. To see the different organizers there. M Hotel’s booth was there too! I met Eugene so I tested him. Do you remember me. Straightway he said elyzabeth! Stunned! his memory is really good. haha.. And I also met Nicole’s sister! So surprised. heh…. Anyway got some free photos during the show:

First one is from iCleeq, its basically like a neo print machine, except that it prints in photo paper and has 4 shots. Not bad a choice for wedding guests. 2nd one is just a ramdom shot given by iforgotwhichphotographyfirm. haha. It’s just to see if we are lucky enough to win a pre wedding photography package. *crossfingers* hope I’m still as lucky as ever when it comes to this kind of japalang contest. haha.

Till death do us part…

IN THE end, there was just a man who loved his wife till the end.
He walked to her casket and placed a single stalk of red rose, green leaves still on its stem, on her body.
He raised his 87-year-old body and walked half a step towards the head of the casket, supporting himself on the frame.
Then, he bent towards her and reached for her face with his right hand. He brought his hand back to his lips and planted a kiss on her forehead.
As though he could not bear to part, he did that again. And then he walked away, composed and unaided.
Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew gave his wife two final kisses as she lay peaceful in her casket at the Mandai Crematorium. Madam Kwa Geok Choo – his beloved Choo – had died on Saturday, aged 89, after being bedridden for over two years as a result of a series of strokes.
His kiss was a private gesture of love, but will linger in the memories of those who witnessed it, as a public affirmation of the abiding love they shared.
Earlier, in his eulogy, he spoke of their years together, as starry-eyed lovers at Raffles College and Cambridge University. He spoke too of her support as he fought for independence, and through his many years as prime minister as he and his colleagues built a new nation.
He spoke of their public life together, reminding his audience of her role in helping to draft legal documents at pivotal moments in Singapore’s history, and of her role as his confidante and adviser.
Of his private feelings at losing his wife, he would only say he would have been a different man without her, with a completely different life, adding at the end, with his head bowed: ‘I should find solace in her 89 years of her life well lived. But at this moment of the final parting, my heart is heavy with sorrow and grief.’

extracted from straitstimes.com
it feels damn sad. looking at it I don’t see this person as MM Lee. I see it as an ordinary man who has so much love for his wife and as much as he is unable to let go he has to in the end.

Weddingy Sunday

Well by this I do not mean that I will be attending weddings. Rather I will be doing a few small things for my wedding.

I’ll be heading to Ilssadorent at Tanjong Pagar to pick the gown that I will be wearing for the sponsored shoot where I will be getting 10 photos. I’m entitled to 2 gowns but I’ll just go for 1 and then exchange the other for a suit for darling. This should take me what 1hour? since i’m only picking 1 gown.

After which I will be meeting a potential AD photographer (yay!). Finally the photography has made some progress. Like a reader was asking about photography, I have done my own set of ratings for different photographers and videographers. After I have confirmed my photographer, I will then post the different assessments on this blog for all the readers. =)

On a worrying note, I have customed designed a carplate which I wanted to use for the shoot on 31st oct. The plate is still in draft discussion and I’m worried that it will not turn out on time. Needed it so that it could form part of my save-the-date cards for my guests. Well cross fingers**
